St. Patrick's Day Activities
St. Patrick’s Day is a huge deal in the United States! It is officially recognized on the same day every year, March 17th, which happens to fall on Sunday this year in 2024. Celebrations will be happening the entire weekend. You only have a few more days to plan, so get started sooner than later so that you can get the most from the holiday.
St Patrick's History
Many scholars believe that St Patrick’s day dates back to Ireland in the 1600s. The date is believed to pay recognition to the date that St. Patrick, Patron Saint of Ireland, died in the late 5th Century. St Patrick’s Day is a religious in the Emerald Isle and for people there it remains a relatively low-key religious feast day. This is not the same for the United States! St Patrick’s day is a day for partying and celebrations. This year the celebrations will last all weekend.
