Harrisburg Family House has been a fixture on Highway 49 for well over a decade. In 2015, the restaurant’s owner told WBTV that the business had already been operating at its current location for 10 years.There is something special about a restaurant that has been serving the community for years. Harrisburg Family House is operated by Nikolaos Katsanos and Vasilios Nickolopoulos, who are listed as member managers of the business. The restaurant’s story actually goes back much further than its Harrisburg location. According to the owners, their family has been in the restaurant business for more than 30 years. Before Harrisburg Family House, the family operated New Athens 24 Hour Restaurant in downtown Charlotte, where they became known for breakfast, home cooking, and their famous marinated beef strips. That experience really shows in the restaurant’s menu. This is not a place trying to reinvent the meaning of comfort food. It is about serving familiar dishes, generous portions, and meals that make you feel right at home.
What Is on the Menu?
The Harrisburg Family House menu is BIG, which means everyone at the table should be able to find something they like. Breakfast is served Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 11 AM and Saturday from 6 AM to 2 PM, giving early birds and weekend breakfast lovers plenty of opportunities to stop in.
Breakfast includes everything from eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, biscuits and gravy to omelets, pancakes, country ham, pork chops and steak and eggs. Their House Special combines two eggs with bacon or sausage, grits, toast or biscuits, butter, jelly, and coffee or iced tea.
