The Ghost of Davidson Walking Tours
In the heart of Davidson, North Carolina, a unique experience awaits those intrigued by the town’s rich history and lingering legends—the Ghosts of Davidson walking tour. Established in 2020 by then 15-year-old resident Andrew Knorpp, the tour offers participants a 90-minute journey through approximately 1.8 miles of downtown Davidson. Along the way, attendees are immersed in tales of local history intertwined with accounts of hauntings and mysteries.
The tour features a variety of stories, from scandalous murders and college indiscretions to tragic losses and rumored spirit sightings. Each narrative is carefully researched, with Knorpp delving into Davidson College archives and conducting interviews with local business owners to uncover the town’s hidden past.
Participants often find themselves standing at sites where these historical events unfolded, such as cemeteries, train tracks, and historic homes. The guides, known for their personable approach, skillfully weave humor into their storytelling, making the experience both entertaining and informative.

February’s tour will also debut a story of two Davidson siblings so unlucky in love that it begs the questions, “Is it better to live with a broken heart or die of one?”
