
Today we honor one of the greatest leaders in history, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A Baptist Minister, Dr. King was a Civil Rights Icon, he lead the nation out of the darkness of segregation and racism with his powerful speeches and peaceful protests. Born January 15, 1929 in Atlanta Georgia, Dr. King was the Leader and spokesperson for the Civil Rights Movement from 1955 until his assassination in 1968. There are many virtual events in Charlotte & Surround to honor the life and legacy of Dr. King, the most notable are the events at the Harvey B. Gantt Center today from 10:00 to 5PM.
